Welcome to Yomeet. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Yomeet mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"), operated by Yomeet ("we," "us," or "our").
By creating an account or using Yomeet, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Yomeet. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. We do not knowingly allow users under 18 to access the platform.
2. Account Registration
- You may register using email/password, Google, Apple Sign-In, phone number (OTP), or as an anonymous user.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration and to keep your profile information up to date.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You may not create multiple accounts or use another person's account.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Yomeet to:
- Harass, threaten, bully, stalk, or intimidate other users
- Post or send sexually explicit, violent, or otherwise offensive content
- Share content that promotes self-harm, suicide, or harm to others
- Spam, solicit, or advertise products or services
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
- Share another user's personal information without their consent
- Upload malware, viruses, or malicious code
- Circumvent or interfere with security features or content moderation
- Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access the Service
- Violate any applicable law or regulation
4. User Content
You retain ownership of the content you create and share on Yomeet, including messages, images, voice notes, and profile information ("User Content").
By posting User Content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, display, and transmit your content solely for the purpose of operating and providing the Service. This license ends when you delete your content or account.
You are solely responsible for your User Content. We do not endorse or guarantee the accuracy of any User Content.
5. AI Companion (Kora)
Yomeet includes an AI companion called Kora that provides conversational support in various modes (Calm Listener, Light and Fun, Night Companion, Motivator).
- Kora is not a licensed therapist, counselor, or medical professional. Kora's responses are generated by artificial intelligence and should not be treated as professional mental health advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
- If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact a qualified professional or your local emergency services immediately.
- Kora may suggest connecting you with a human user for support ("AI Handoff"). These human users are peer supporters, not professionals.
- We do not guarantee the accuracy, reliability, or appropriateness of Kora's responses.
- Your conversations with Kora are stored on our servers and may be processed by third-party AI services (OpenAI) to generate responses.
6. Matching and Interactions
Yomeet connects you with other users based on your mood, intent, language, timezone, and interests. When using the matching and communication features:
- You interact with strangers at your own risk. We do not verify the identity, background, or intentions of other users.
- Never share sensitive personal information (home address, financial details, passwords) with other users.
- We encourage you to use the block and report features if you encounter inappropriate behavior.
- We are not responsible for the actions, behavior, or content of other users.
7. Voice and Video Calls
Yomeet provides voice and video calling features powered by third-party infrastructure (Agora).
- Call metadata (duration, type, status) is logged for service operation and safety purposes.
- We do not record the audio or video content of your calls.
- Call quality depends on your network conditions and is not guaranteed.
- You must not record calls without the other party's consent where required by law.
8. Content Moderation and Enforcement
We use automated tools and manual review to moderate content and enforce these Terms.
- Messages may be scanned by automated moderation systems to detect harmful content.
- We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms without notice.
- We may issue warnings, temporary bans, or permanent bans for violations.
- If your account is permanently banned, you may not create a new account.
- You may report other users for: harassment, spam, inappropriate content, self-harm, or threats.
9. Subscriptions and Payments
Yomeet offers a premium subscription ("Yomeet Pro") with additional features including unlimited call minutes, unlimited AI sessions, and a verification badge.
- Mobile subscriptions are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store via RevenueCat. Web subscriptions are processed through Stripe.
- Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date.
- Refunds for mobile subscriptions are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective refund policies.
- We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with reasonable advance notice.
- The verification badge indicates an active subscription and does not represent identity verification or a guarantee of trustworthiness.
10. Intellectual Property
The Yomeet name, logo, design, and all related intellectual property are owned by us. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our intellectual property without our written permission. The Service, including its code, design, and features, is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
11. Account Suspension and Termination
- We may suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if you violate these Terms.
- You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. Account deletion is permanent and irreversible.
- Upon deletion, all your data — including messages, conversations, AI sessions, call logs, and relationships — will be permanently removed.
- Active subscriptions should be cancelled before deleting your account to avoid continued charges.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
Yomeet is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. We make no guarantees regarding the quality of matches, the accuracy of AI responses, or the behavior of other users. Your use of the Service is at your sole risk.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Yomeet and its officers, employees, and partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. This includes, but is not limited to, damages resulting from interactions with other users, reliance on AI-generated content, service interruptions, or data loss. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Yomeet, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.
15. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If a resolution cannot be reached within 30 days, either party may pursue binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the applicable arbitration body in our jurisdiction.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of Yomeet after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you disagree with any changes, you should stop using the Service and delete your account.
