Getting Started

How do I create an account?

Download Yomeet from the App Store or Google Play. You can sign up with your email and password, Google, Apple Sign-In, phone number (OTP), or use the app anonymously without creating an account.

How do I set up my profile?

After signing up, go to your profile tab. You can add a display name, upload an avatar, write a short bio, and select your preferred language. Your profile helps Yomeet match you with compatible people.

How do I find a match?

Tap "Find a Match" from the home screen. Select your intent — Vent, Casual Chat, Deep Talk, Advice, or Just Listen. Yomeet will match you with someone compatible based on your mood, language, timezone, and interests.

Using Kora AI

How do I start a conversation with Kora?

Open the Kora tab from the bottom navigation. Choose a support mode — Calm Listener, Light and Fun, Night Companion, or Motivator — and start chatting. Kora is available 24/7.

What are Kora's support modes?

Calm Listener provides gentle, empathetic support. Light and Fun keeps things casual and uplifting. Night Companion offers comfort during late-night hours. Motivator gives encouragement and positivity to help you push forward.

Is Kora a real therapist?

No. Kora is an AI companion powered by artificial intelligence. She is not a licensed therapist, counselor, or medical professional. If you are in crisis, please contact a qualified professional or your local emergency services.

What is AI Handoff?

When Kora detects that you might benefit from talking to a real person, she can offer to connect you with a human peer supporter. This is a suggestion, not a requirement — you always have the choice.

Calls & Communication

How do I start a voice or video call?

Open a conversation with someone and tap the phone icon for a voice call or the video icon for a video call. You'll need to grant microphone (and camera for video) permissions.

Are my calls recorded?

No. Yomeet does not record the audio or video content of your calls. Call metadata (duration, type, status) is logged for service operation and safety purposes only.

Can I make group calls?

Yes. Yomeet supports group voice calls. Create or join a group, then start a group call from the group chat screen.

Safety & Privacy

How do I block someone?

Open the conversation or the user's profile and tap the menu icon. Select "Block" to prevent them from contacting you. Blocked users cannot see your profile or send you messages.

How do I report someone?

Open the conversation or the user's profile, tap the menu icon, and select "Report." Choose a reason — harassment, spam, inappropriate content, self-harm, or threats — and submit. Our team reviews every report.

Is my data safe?

We use industry-standard security practices including password hashing, encrypted token storage, and short-lived access tokens. Automated content moderation and PII stripping help protect your information. Read our Privacy Policy for full details.

Account Management

How do I change my password?

Go to Settings in the app and select "Change Password." You'll need to enter your current password and then your new password. If you signed up with Google or Apple, you don't have a Yomeet password.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings, scroll to the bottom, and tap "Delete Account." This is permanent and removes all your data — messages, conversations, AI sessions, call logs, and relationships. Cancel any active subscriptions before deleting.

How do I cancel my subscription?

For iOS: go to Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions on your iPhone. For Android: go to Google Play > Subscriptions. Find Yomeet and cancel. Web subscriptions can be managed through your Stripe billing portal.

Yomeet Pro

What does Yomeet Pro include?

Yomeet Pro unlocks unlimited voice and video call minutes, unlimited Kora AI sessions and messages, a verification badge on your profile, and priority matching.

How do I subscribe to Yomeet Pro?

Open the app, go to Settings or your Profile, and tap "Upgrade to Pro." You can subscribe through the App Store, Google Play, or the web. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled.

What does the verification badge mean?

The verification badge indicates an active Yomeet Pro subscription. It does not represent identity verification or a guarantee of trustworthiness — it simply shows you're a paying subscriber.

Troubleshooting

The app is not matching me with anyone

This can happen if there are few active users in your language or timezone at that moment. Try broadening your preferences or checking back at a different time. Make sure you have a stable internet connection.

I can't hear audio during calls

Check that your microphone permission is enabled for Yomeet in your device settings. Make sure your phone is not on silent mode and the volume is turned up. Try switching between speaker and earpiece.

Push notifications aren't working

Go to your device settings and ensure notifications are enabled for Yomeet. On iOS, check Settings > Notifications > Yomeet. On Android, check Settings > Apps > Yomeet > Notifications.

The app crashes or freezes

Make sure you're running the latest version of Yomeet from the App Store or Google Play. Try closing and reopening the app. If the issue persists, uninstall and reinstall the app — your account data is saved on our servers.
